There is a legend of a lost land called Ayris where beautiful brilliantly colored dragons guarded the royal family. Two families dominated the land. Arthur’s (who would be king) came from the line of Judah and house of David. Merlin’s family came from the line of Ephraim – son of Joseph. LEGEND OF THE EMERALD ROSE is the story of this land and these families.
For those who love Arthurian legends, much in this tale will be familiar. But even if you’re not a big fan of the King and his Knights of the Round Table, the Legend of the Emerald Rose will draw you into the magical setting.
It is a dark period in Camelot. Beloved King Arthur is killed and Lady Guinevere is murdered. Only a few of King Arthur’s Knights remain and three of these men have vowed to guard Princess Emerald Rose Rayn Pendragon, daughter of Guinevere and Arthur, and when she is old enough, return her to the throne.
Merlin has seemingly left the land of Ayris also, but his son, Shadoe, had made a vow to Guinevere to protect Emerald Rose, although he does not know Emerald Rose is a person. He returns to the land after a 17 absence.
It becomes a war of good against evil for strong willed warrior Emerald Rose Rayn and determined Shadoe as they fight to fulfill their destinies in the final battle for the land of Camelot.
King Arthurian legends are not my favorite genre but I was intrigued by this particular story because of the strong faith thread. In her debut novel author Linda Wichman delivers a tale that keeps the reader riveted to the pages, until the end. Who knew a land with dragons and knights could hold a tale of such faith and hope? (I do now!)
LEGEND OF THE EMERALD ROSE is a must read for anyone who seeks stories of faith, courage, hope, and love.
